It Doesn’t all Come Naturally

Published by raylynn at 8:43 am under Uncategorized Edit This

If any craft/hobby that I’ve tried I’ve found that it doesn’t all work as planned. I’ve had hopes and images in my head on how they should turn out but once I’ve gotten through it the end result is far from what I wanted. Hobbies are trial and error, I’ve always tried to have more trials and less errors but I’m not perfect, wish I could be at some things. For me to master a craft/hobby has taken years and I’m still learning more every time. Learning new things to do for each craft/hobby keeps me on my toes and keeps me from getting bored.

I’ve also learned that I can’t do everything, some crafts/hobbies that I’ve tried ended shortly after starting. Some take time and lots of practice or just inspiration from another source. I wanted to scrapbook for years, had a good start on the supplies – so I thought, but had no clue on where to start, no clue at all. So one day when a friend was having a workshop in town, I packed up everything and went. Being a newbie I left all my pictures at home, shows what I knew about scrapbooking at that time, but within 4 months I was current with 4 scrapbooks, one for the family and one for each of my three boys with the oldest being 7 at the time already and the youngest being 1. So it’s fine to get a kick in the butt from others and look elsewhere for inspiration. Don’t stress if it doesn’t fall into place right away, practice makes perfect or kick one craft/hobby out the door and try something new.
